I am begining to beleive that this part of northeastern Pa., with its close proximity to both NYC and Philly, (125mi) will soon become a thriving matropolis. The area is growing in leaps and bounds and just seemes to ho;d great promise.

Scranton Pa

I worked in Scranton for a while, and to be honest, I never found anything interesting about it. The mall is about the only thing I enjoyed, but other than that.. the city itself is dirty in my opinion, and lacking interesting things to do.

Many people have already discovered this area of PA. There are many NYC workers that commute on Rte 80. It is a great combination of city/rural environment.

I lived outside of Scranton (in Newton Ransom) for almost 8 years and continue to visit family there occasionally.
It takes a strong person to live in Scranton. The town is an old coal town and is still pretty run down. They are trying to revitalize it, but having lived there for most of my teen years, I can’t say it will ever be a place I would want to raise my family.
If you are looking to move there, I would suggest looking into a suburb and not living directly in the city.

I’m from the UK and iv actually heard quite allot about it and that there’s a Jewish Community that seems to be enjoying itself there… i heard it has a bit of an industrial air about it but that the people are very friendly and ‘village’ oriented… in all i think i will visit some day.

I was there last year, and it seemed beat. Even has impoverished ghettos and housing projects with crackheads
